Maybe, Life's a Glass that's Never Empty?

Mo Gawdat talks about the Algorithm for Happiness. Listening to his talk got me thinking. We're all on the pursuit of Happiness. But, how would we know if or when we find it? The short version of his talk is here

Is the absence of unhappy thoughts and feelings, happiness?

One of many points Mo makes in his talk and for me right now the point that resonates the strongest. My search for happiness begins as I start to define and refine its meaning. But at the same time, not to get lost in the search until I lose touch with being in the Now. As his Algorithm goes:

Your Happiness >= Your Perception of Your Life - You Expectations of How Your Life Should Behave

Quiet time is a scarce resource right now. But I'm stealing a few moments to read his book, the Kindle version here 'Solve for Happy'. His insights are inspiring. It's pretty much in-line with what I've been trying to do lately. Learning to be thankful and appreciate the joy of here and now. I'll update after I'm done reading!

  1. Israeli Lawyer Moshe Strugano agree One of Mo's numerous points is the one that most resonates with me at the moment of his speech.
As I start to define and hone its meaning, my hunt for happiness starts.
But at the same time, to avoid losing myself in the hunt to the point that I stop being present.

  2. Indeed. The exercise feels like trying to learn to dance, with life as your partner. Worrying about not messing up the steps, while trying to calm your mind enough to be able feel the music guide you.
